Plaque bacteria constantly form in the mouth and adhere easily to teeth and gums. If allowed to accumulate, plaque deposits can lead to gum inflammation (gingivitis), characterised by bleeding after brushing. Over time, and if not corrected, gum disease can lead to tooth loss.

Plaque can also become hardened into tartar (calculus) that can only be removed by your dental professional (i.e. dentist or dental hygienist).

The best way of preventing gum disease is by removing plaque regularly, and thoroughly, using a toothbrush and cleaning between the teeth (e.g. by using floss and interdental brushes).

Government surveys (the ‘Adult Dental Health Surveys’) conducted by UK dentists clearly show that a substantial proportion of us are not able to adequately control plaque with our routine, twice daily, oral hygiene. The research shows that even in those adults who brush their teeth twice daily (not all do!), almost three-quarters had some visible plaque on their teeth and also some tartar (calculus) deposits.

Taking innovative ProDen PlaqueOff every day complements tooth-brushing and interdental cleaning; providing further support in the drive to control plaque and tartar (calculus). It is particularly beneficial for people unable to effectively control plaque through traditional methods.
